Bored and Hello :)

Hey everyone! I was just clicking on my bookmarks and I found the AGD blog. Thought I'd write to say hello and also to hopefully encourage some more updates from people! This could be a really fun thing if we get it going more. Anyways...

Not sure that I have any very exciting news to share... I wish I did. I looked at Border Collie puppies last weekend while we were up at Scott's lakehouse. It took everything I had to walk away from them. It was very hard. But, I decided it is more important on my priority list to have fun in the city this summer, and it would be too hard with a puppy at Scott's... So, someday! They were precious though.
Here's a picture.

Other than that, nothing much new. Still living in the city and loving it. I've come to terms with the fact that I'm going to move to the suburbs when my lease is up in October. I'm going to move in with Scott. It will be fun to live together, and we basically do right now. All the back and forth is crazy. But, I am really going to miss living downtown. I guess I am glad I had 5 years of it
though... but still, it's funny how you take things for granted until you realize they're going to be over. It will be a transition, but I'm excited to live with him of course. We just celebrated a year together, Scott surprised me with tickets to Beauty and the Beast, the musical at the Cadillac Theatre. Best surprise ever. I love that movie, and it was the Disney version. I really had to restrain myself from singing out loud. Kept having to remind myself that people were not there to hear me sing. Haha. It was a really good show though. This is a picture of us outside the show celebrating a year together. I can't believe it's been that long. It has flown by but I guess that's the way it should be.

Anyway, that's my exciting life. :) Nothing much to share. No babies or anything like that yet so instead I'll just have to update you about my puppy search. Hahaha. I'm so excited it's warming up though and I can't wait to have a great summer downtown. I seriously have a list that I call my Chicago list of things I want to do (that I never think to do because I live here) before I move... So, my summer will be full of scratching things off that list. It will be fun though, more fun than most to-do lists.

Hope all is well with everyone! I would love to make it to a football game one of these years and just have a huge AGD tailgate. I think it would be a blast.

Miss you all!

Bragging Rights

Hey chicas!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Can we please get an update from those of you that haven't posted. I would love to know what is going on in your lives.

Just a quick post to, for lack of better words, brag!!! I lost all the baby weight from both Addison and Tyler! Yay!! I'm back down to my college weight. I think it was a combination of still nursing Tyler, running after two kids, running after preschoolers on a daily basis, giving up soda for lent (I am craving a coke soooooo bad) and eating healthy snacks. I feel better than ever and hope that I can maintain this current weight.

Also, wanted to know if any AGD's wanted to meet up on the Saturday of Steph's engagement party in the late morning or afternoon to do something with the kiddos. I'll have both of them so if anyone wants to go to a park, zoo or just hang out I would be up for it.

Hey Girls,

So sorry I have been so bad at this. I know it seems like I would be better at it and post more, but honestly, I keep forgetting. I need to update my settings so I get emails when someone posts. That will help me. :)

So, I'm excited this idea worked! I think it's a great way to keep in touch without mass emails.

I think I talk to all of you and I'm not entirely sure any of my updates are very exciting at all, but I'll give you a brief rundown anyways:

Still living downtown Chicago. Finally moved out of my first apartment (the little studio) in October, and into a much bigger place in Lakeview. I love it, and I want all of you to come visit me please. I have so much more room. You're welcome ANYTIME.

I will be dating Scott a year in the beginning of April! Time flies! It's crazy, I honestly can't believe it's been that long.

I finished up my MBA in May of last year. I'm nannying for a little boy named Ben right now, he's 2 years old. I've job searched and nothing really has come up, and as of recently, I think I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I'm shooting for secondary ed. specializing in English and Math. So we'll see. If all goes well I should be started with that pretty soon. I know it seems like a big jump from an MBA... but what can I say? I just think it's the right thing to do.

I'm still having some fun in the city... Definitely don't feel as old as I am. I am sure within the next few years I will be settling down with Scott, so I feel like I should enjoy the city while I live here. I think the first few years I lived here I took things for granted, and never went to see sights or do anything fun. So, I've really changed that since last summer, and of course it's a lot more fun now that I have someone to do all of these things with.

Yeah, I think that's pretty much it though! I really don't have a ton of news. I miss you all and I really want to go to a Purdue game this year!! We should plan a reunion, if possible. I know some of you are far busier than I with families and kiddos and stuff, so I know it's tough. But we'll see what we can do.

I miss you!

Oh man..

Ha, this is funny...Feb 2002: Brandy and I became really close this year because as she was breaking up with Adam and getting together with her Brian and I was breaking up with Nick and [trying to] get together with my Brian. ha. Crush dance? No clue. Don't remember. Maybe I was with Nick still then, or possibly didn't go? I just remember being miserable with Nick at that time. I really don't think I went to sophomore crush dance. Anyone set me up? Anyone else remember??? Hmm...I would need to see pictures. I really think that was the year I didn't go...I DO remember celebrating the time when Allison FINALLY was off her medicine and could drink again. That was a time to celebrate. Let's be honest: "Mark" NOT drinking in college? That just sounds funny! Geez, Brandy, remember how unhappy we were with our men and how long it took us to finally, actually, break it off with them? sheesh!! ha, aww memories!

Feb. 2002

Well, I was taking that medicine so I wasn't drinking. Although, I stopped taking it for Crush Dance 2002 because I was going with KEVIN HESS!!!!! hahahahahaha! Little did I know, I would meet my husband for the very first time that night. Tyler was Coffey's date and I remember thinking he was funny, but nothing compared to my date. Tyler always talks about how Coffey kept ordering drinks, taking a sip, and then giving them to Tyler. Mark Moulis came to the dance, too. Remember Lisa? Also, I remember always hanging out with Josh that semester, too. I miss that guy. Does anyone know where he is? Ah, the memories.

Looking back...FEB 2002

Today Brian and I celebrate 8 years of our relationship. 8 years ago today we went on our first date and the following weekend we went to 2002 Crush Dance together. When I think back to that time not only do memories of our puppy love come back but all the people that were so close to me at that time. I was just coming off of that terrible relationship with Adam...which we all knew it was time for me to get out of that situation! I was living with Coffey and Colleen West was on the other side of the room. I remember coming home from my first shacking experience with Brian (ha) and wanting to show Coffey who I was crushing on. We ran over to someone's room that had a Sigma Nu composite on their wall and I pointed him out and Coffey goes "Oh no!" I was totally confused and stuttered, "What?" Then she proceeded to tell me she had shacked with him at the "gangster" pledge party we had!! Remember that...the one where we all wore wife beaters and wrote on ourselves with highlighters. haha. Oh my gosh...cannot even believe we did that!! So...that was the start of our relationship. Love ya Coffey...er, I mean Ialase :)

Think back to February of 2002. Where were you and what sticks out in your mind?
